Mette Kynne Frandsen has been part of the management team at Henning Larsen Architects since 1998 and was appointed CEO in 2003 with responsibility for strategy and succession planning. Thus, Mette is behind the development of an organisation that has doubled its number of employees in recent years and today occupies people from diverse professional fields.
Mette has focus on strengthening the company internationally by expanding its international network of clients and partners. Today, Henning Larsen Architects has subsidiaries in Saudi Arabia, Oslo, Munich, Istanbul, Hong Kong and the Faroe Islands. The company is working on projects in approx. 20 countries and employs staff of more than 32 different nationalities.
Mette's sound competence in managing a creative and innovative company working on a global scale has positioned Henning Larsen Architects as a leading architecture company. Mette Kynne Frandsen holds a number of significant positions of trust - including the positions of deputy chairwoman of The Danish Architecture Centre and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
As an architect, Mette has built management experience through numerous competitions and projects. From 1993-2003, she was responsible project manager for several large projects from competition to completed building, including Roskilde University Library and Nordea Headquarters in Copenhagen. Through her work as an architect, Mette has gained extensive experience with development processes that transform creativity and knowledge into practice and thus create added value for cities and citizens.
Mette has developed the architecture company's new role as a driving force in Public-Private Partnerships, including concept/idea development as well as operation and financing of the projects. A good example is Harpa - Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Iceland where an interdisciplinary team solved all consultancy, financial and operational aspects of the project.
Mette has vast experience in creating synergy and holistic solutions across professional fields and sectors, and she brings her experience into play through her engagement in a number of private and public positions of trust focusing on exports, growth and the potential of the creative industries.
